Dylan Lloyd, a talented pop singer & songwriter based in Chicago, IL, has won the February SingerUniverse “Best Vocalist Of The Month” Competition, for his performance of his song “Here's To Paradise" (co-written by Rob Kleiner). Lloyd is a pro songwriter signed to Radar Music (administered by BMG Publishng), and this song is included in his artist presentation, which he will be shopping to labels soon.

“Here's To Paradise” is a mainstream, midtempo pop cut which has an appealing melody and radio-ready production. This song provides a good showcase for Lloyd's clear, expressive vocals. It's also a fine example of his pop songwriting ability. Impressively, Lloyd played all the instruments on this recording, which was produced by Lloyd and co-writer Rob Kleiner. Kleiner recently co-wrote & produced the song "What Part Of Forever," which was recorded by Cee Lo Green for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack album.

Lloyd was grew up on the South Side of Chicago, where he was introduced to music by his grandparents (who raised him). He learned to play piano (his main instrument) at a young age, and he now also plays guitar, bass and drums. Lloyd was inspired by listening to such favorite artists as Michael Jackson, Ben Folds, and Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters. During high school, Lloyd was the lead singer & songwriter for a rock jam band called Pangaea, and they opened for Medeski, Martin & Wood and other established artists.

By the time Lloyd graduated from high school, he already knew that he wanted to pursue music as his career. He first decided to attend nearby Moraine Valley Community College, where he earned his Associate of the Arts Degree by studying Music Theory. Lloyd also developed his vocal skills and performing during this period.

In Chicago, Lloyd met another promising young writer/artist named Elle Vee (aka Lindsay Vinarsky). Elle Vee introduced Lloyd to her father Craig Vinarsky, who is a music manager and a representative for Radar Music. Vinarsky then recommended Lloyd to Jonathan Stone, President of Radar Music. Stone was impressed when he heard Lloyd's music, so he signed him to a publishing deal with Radar two years ago.

Since signing with Radar, Lloyd has collaborated with several pro writer/producers and written songs for various label projects. Notably, he has worked with Soundtrakk (who produces Lupe Fiasco) and MdL (aka Mason Levy), who works with hit artist TautanMike Posner. Lloyd also collaborates with Stephen Jerzak (who was signed to Universal Records), and the duo has released a single called "With You." In addition, Lloyd was invited to be the first American artist to perform and compete at the prestigious Crimea Music Fest, which is held in the city of Yalta in the Ukraine. "This was a great experience, I received excellent exposure, and it gave me confidence to pursue an artist career in addition to my songwriting."

Currently, Lloyd is working on several music projects and collaborations. But his main goal is to pursue his artist career and secure a label deal. "I have a manager who is starting to shop me to labels--it could be with a major label or the right independent label," said Lloyd. "I've also been talking with label A&R execs and getting good feedback."
