Nirvana’s ‘Lost Song’ Revealed
During a recent interview between Jon Stewart and those associated with Nirvana’s Nevermind (Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl, producer Butch Vig), it was revealed that there’s a “lost song” from the album’s sessions. Stewart interviewed the musicians on Saturday night about the 20th anniversary of Nevermind for Sirius XM, according to Spin.
Vig said that there was a track called “Song in D” that was never completed. The band attempted the instrumental composition during the Nevermind sessions, but never added lyrics to it. Grohl quipped, “Sounds like another box set!”
Grohl and Novoselic talked about the frugality of Nirvana before they achieved superstardom. While recording Nevermind, they shared a $70-a-night hotel room – and found out that rappers Kid ’n Play and rockers Europe were also long-term guests.
The two-hour interview will continue to air on Sirius XM’s Lithium channel through Wednesday, September 28.
